Forests

Stands of trees and conifers can make up such and immense area of wilderness. While at increasing elevations there are fewer types and densities of tree populations. Lower elevations host chaparral, sagebrush, woodlands and pines. While at 7,000 feet and above you begin to see Lodgepole-Red Fir until the subalpine and alpine areas of the Sierra Nevada far above that. There are distinct zones for each by elevation.
