Sacred Forest
When you consider the forest and its Sequoias, it hosts an endless variety of life. It is the place to return to peace and centeredness that reminds me that I am alive. That life is not just about work and personal success, but this is what it is to return to balance. To experience the wilderness is to experience the forests and what it brings to the soul.
Sublimation
Being high enough among the clouds leaves you to wonder what the forest will reveal. The clouds mask and veil the depth of the wilderness to bring a sense of mystique only characteristic of the Sierra.
Subtle Light
The valley floor of Yosemite this day was filled with exhilaration. The defected light coming through the canopy of the forest created unique lighting conditions that were quite a treat. While what I saw made perfect sense, the mist burning off the forest floor brought about a natural behavior rarely seen.
Obscured
A place to withdraw and contemplate, the soft Winter of the lower Sierra offers solace and a new awakening. Here the Winter forest floor at the base of Mt Hillyer keeps your senses piqued.
Soft Shade
With the shade and sunlight, the colors of Spring shift with the breeze only to pull on the imagination. Here in Sequoia National Park, the forest brings out shades of color that bring you in closer.
Unfolded
When the evening sky opens up, there is a state of wonder that comes as with scenes such as this. How the symphony and balance of light between heaven and earth unfold to hold you in place.
Boole Tree
The Boole Tree is a lone survivor within the Converse Basin area of Sequoia National Forest. Surrounding it are the numerous exploited Sequoia’s that was logged many years ago.
Solar Hue
At dusk, the clouds above the Sierra forest unfold and the sky above shines through in a brilliant display of solar hues. There’s a fire in the sky without the flames. The cast of fading color brings out the greatest drama in the Beetle Rock landscape of the Sierra.
Evaporation
As the morning mist of Yosemite Valley burns off the trees on the forest floor, you can not help but half expect to smell the odor charred bark or smoke. Here we stand in the presence of three states of matter. Here we see their transformation. It’s evaporation.
Cleansed
Falls that roar and begin their descent from high above can captivate the imagination. The force of the river shapes hardened surfaces and cleanses both body and soul. Among rivers throughout the Sierra, it is often that we only see a small segment of a rushing cascade to invite further exploration.
Perpetuity
There’s something soothing and refreshing about being alongside a fast-moving stream. The sound of the water that cascades before you make a perfect place for contemplation and wonder. The formative nature of water carves its beautiful expression of matter between states.
