Hidden Light is a prayerful expression of the Holy Spirit’s abiding presence, bringing life, renewal, and hope into the broken and desolate places of the human soul. Through images of wilderness, falling kingdoms, trembling nations, and the passing of earthly glory, the song proclaims God’s eternal sovereignty and the transforming power of His Spirit. At its heart is a longing to be wholly governed by God, sustained by His presence through every trial, and brought from darkness into everlasting communion with Him.
Original Composition
The original composition brings together lyrics, melody, instrumentation, and arrangement to express personal experiences, observations, and reflections drawn from different seasons of life. Each work develops its own musical character, conveying meaning through both direct expression and the subtleties of imagery, symbolism, and interpretation.
Hidden Light
Black veil beneath the burning sky,
Silent dunes where the ages lie,
Dust of kingdoms, bones of kings,
Carried away on forgotten winds.
Alone where the desert meets the night,
I waited beneath the hidden light,
Not my voice, not my will,
Yet the living breath was speaking still.
The earth was empty,
The stars were cold,
Yet deeper than the silence
Was a fire untold.
And I heard the wind
Moving through the hollow places,
Calling through the wilderness,
Calling through the wasteland.
Spirit of the Living God,
Breathe through me—
Through the dust,
Through the stone,
Through the darkened sea.
Spirit of the Living God,
Reign in me—
Let Your fire remain,
Let Your voice remain,
Let Your glory be seen.
Carry me beyond myself
Everlasting Breath
The horizon trembled with silver flame,
Every grain of sand proclaimed Your name,
Not in thunder,
Not in war,
But in the stillness at the center of all.
The ancient heavens bent so low,
Rivers of light began to flow,
Through the wounds,
Through the years,
Through the chambers built from fear.
I am nothing but a vessel,
Nothing but clay,
Yet the river of eternity
Has found its way.
And I felt the wind
Moving through the broken places,
Calling through the wilderness,
Calling through the wasteland.
Spirit of the Living God,
Breathe through me—
Through the dust,
Through the stone,
Through the darkened sea.
Spirit of the Living God,
Reign in me—
Let Your fire remain,
Let Your voice remain,
Let Your glory be seen.
No kingdom stands forever,
No monument remains,
The mountains bow before You,
The oceans know Your name.
The proud become as shadows,
The mighty turn to dust,
But those who walk within You
Will rise because they must.
You are here…
You are here…
Spirit of the Living God,
Breathe through me—
When the stars are falling,
When the earth is trembling,
When the nations flee.
Spirit of the Living God,
Reign in me—
Till the desert is a garden,
Till the night becomes morning,
Till Your face I see.
Black veil beneath the morning sun,
The wilderness and I are one,
Not because I conquered fear,
But because Your living breath is here.
Spirit of the Living God
